Wenonah canoes stacked on the shoreline rack, paddles leaning alongside

Farallon Rec

Wenonah Canoe

The original coastal vehicle. Quiet enough to sneak up on a loon.

We keep ten Wenonah Spirit IIs — the workhorse canoe of the Tomales Bay, built downstate in Winona. Seventeen feet, two comfortable seats, room for a third paddler or a week of gear, and a hull that tracks straight even when the bow paddler is mostly supervising.

An evening canoe circuit of the lake's north bay is the single most reliable way we know to see loons, beavers, and the occasional moose browsing the shallows. Life jackets, paddles, and honest advice about the wind are included.
